Treatment Philosophy

We recognize the biological, psychological, and social aspects of Substance Use Disorders and emphasize interventions that incorporate those critical aspects of the disease. Our approach to managing Substance Use Disorders is to implement evidence-based treatment strategies, while recognizing the individual needs of the patient.

Services
We offer assessment and management of patients with Substance Use Disorders including—but not limited to—nicotine, alcohol, opioids, stimulants (methamphetamines), sedatives (benzodiazepines). We use evidence-based medications and complementary therapies as indicated. We serve Lexington, Kentucky and surrounding areas.
SPECIALTY SERVICES:

We promote rapid transition from full agoinist (for example, oxycodone) to partial agonists (for example, buprenorphine) with targeted weaning protocols leading to promotion of evidence-based management of chronic pain. We also advocate for the use of adjunctive pain management therapies to include SNRIs, massage, acupuncture, and mindfulness.

We take a collaborative approach to chronic and life-threatening illness by identifying and assessing treatment of SUD and other associated problems including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual.

We provide assistance with Primary Care Providers and specialists to help patients maintain recovery from SUD during treatment for complex medical problems including endocarditis, osteomyelitis, and neurological impairment.

Our treatment approach to Hepatitis C is one that promotes recovery and wellness and decreases the chance of reoccurrence of the condition.
